Nach der Weltwirtschaftskrise musste der Betrieb von 1930 bis 1934 eingestellt werden, und auch nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg meldete die FSG mehrfach Insolvenz an. 1990 wurde das Unternehmen von Egon Oldendorff übernommen. Im Jahr 2014 übernahm das norwegische Familienunternehmen Siem Industries die Werft.
