Nordsee, Föhr, Wyk auf Föhr, Midlum, Oevenum, Wrixum | Wyk auf Föhr, Midlum, Oevenum und Wrixum sind Orte auf der nordfriesischen Insel Föhr, deren Geschichte eng miteinander verflochten ist. Wyk entstand nach 1600, als Bewohner der benachbarten Halligen und der Insel Alt-Nordstrand nach der Burchardiflut neue Siedlungsflächen in einer Bucht bei Boldixum erhielten. Ursprünglich gehörte Wyk der Harde Osterland-Föhr an und erhielt 1704 zunächst die Hafengerechtigkeit, zwei Jahre später die Rechte eines Fleckens mit neu definierten Grenzen.
