Maasholm ist eine Gemeinde im Kreis Schleswig-Flensburg an der Schleimündung | Der Yachthafen von Maasholm entwickelte sich aus einem alten Fischerdorf, das ursprünglich eine Insel war und erst im frühen 20. Jahrhundert durch Trockenlegungsversuche zur Halbinsel wurde. Die Geschichte des Ortes ist eng mit dem Fischfang verbunden, der seit dem 18. Jahrhundert eine zentrale Rolle spielte, wobei die Bewohner des alten Dorfes Maas um 1700 das neue Maasholm auf der westlichen Höhe anlegten.
