Er diente später als Basis für die britische Luftwaffe und war etwa 1948 in die Berliner Luftbrücke eingebunden. Die Bundeswehr übernahm den Flugplatz 1959, und ab 1967 wurde er wieder an die Luftwaffe zurückgegeben.
