Luftbild Stadt Arnis - Die Schifferkirche aus dem Jahr 1637 | Die Schifferkirche aus dem Jahr 1637 (erster Gottesdienst 1673) ist eine der wichtigsten Sehenswürdigkeiten von Arnis. Der ursprünglich als Steinbau geplante Gottesdienstort wurde nach dem Untergang eines Schiffes mit Backsteinen aus Gotland doch als Fachwerkkirche errichtet. Besonders beeindruckend ist die Kanzel aus dem Jahr 1573, die nach einer Sturmflut von der untergegangenen Insel Nordstrand angeschwemmt wurde. Von der Decke hängen Votivschiffe, die dankbare Seeleute als Geschenk für ihre Rettung aus Seenot stifteten. Die Kirche steht an der Parkstraße 118
